Job Description
United Hebrew of New Rochelle is a vibrant, not-for-profit senior care campus dedicated to serving the needs of Westchester County. With over 100 years of experience and a strong mission-driven focus, United Hebrew offers a continuum of care tailored to meet the diverse needs of seniors at various levels of independence and care requirements. The campus includes Willow Towers Assisted Living, Willow Gardens Memory Care, and the United Hebrew Geriatric Center providing skilled nursing and rehabilitation services. By combining independent living with skilled nursing care all in one seamless campus environment, United Hebrew ensures a caring, supportive community where every senior can thrive. The campus is committed to providing compassionate, person-centered care that respects each resident's dignity and individuality. Staff members at United Hebrew take pride in contributing to a warm and inviting atmosphere that enhances the quality of life for residents, families, and visitors alike.
The role of Concierge at United Hebrew is a vital position focused on delivering a welcoming and professional first point of contact for residents, families, staff, and visitors. This Per Diem non-union position requires an individual who is warm, professional, and service-oriented. The Concierge enhances the resident and guest experience by greeting everyone with hospitality and professionalism, managing incoming calls and inquiries, and coordinating non-clinical resident services such as meal delivery, appointment reminders, and activity sign-ups. The role also involves supporting various administrative functions like data entry, document preparation, and maintaining visitor logs while ensuring the front desk and lobby areas remain clean, organized, and inviting.
The ideal candidate for the Concierge role will have a high school diploma or GED, with an associate's degree preferred, and at least one year of experience in customer service, hospitality, or healthcare, particularly in senior living or long-term care settings. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills are essential, alongside proficiency in Microsoft Office and standard office equipment. Familiarity with HIPAA and facility policies regarding confidentiality and security is crucial, as well as the ability to work sensitively with diverse populations. A New York State Security Guard license is preferred but not mandatory.
Physically, the role requires the ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods, with frequent reaching, bending, twisting, and stooping, and the capacity to lift packages and materials weighing up to 25 pounds occasionally. The working environment is indoors, climate controlled, with exposure to noise, interruptions, and emotionally sensitive situations. Occasional contact with residents having communicable conditions means standard infection control procedures and PPE use may be necessary.
Joining United Hebrew means becoming part of a supportive, collaborative team dedicated to the mission of enriching the lives of seniors through compassionate, respectful care in a well-established community setting. This role provides an opportunity to make a positive impact every day by ensuring that residents and visitors feel welcomed, supported, and well cared for throughout their experience on campus.
