Job Description
This job opening is for a Concierge position at a senior living community dedicated to providing an elevated way of life for seniors where comfort, connection, and joy thrive. The community emphasizes a warm, welcoming atmosphere and strives to be a place where residents, their families, and visitors feel valued and cared for. As a senior living establishment, the organization focuses not only on offering housing but also on enriching the lives of its residents through meaningful interactions, well-organized events, and attentive service. The environment aims to be both professional and compassionate, supporting residents' needs in various aspects including social, emotional, and practical care.
The Concierge role is a critical part of this community as it serves as the first point of contact for visitors and residents alike. This hourly position reports directly to the Business Office Director and requires a responsible, friendly individual capable of managing multiple tasks with professionalism and enthusiasm. The Concierge will greet visitors, arrange property tours, handle a multi-line telephone, and provide clerical support to administrative staff, ensuring smooth operations at the front desk. This role demands excellent communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and a welcoming demeanor to create positive first impressions and foster a comfortable environment for all guests and residents.
In addition to greeting guests, the Concierge will assist residents, family members, and visitors with their requests and provide guidance around the property. They will be entrusted with managing incoming and outgoing mail, operating office equipment such as copiers and mail meters, and maintaining a neat and orderly reception area filled with up-to-date property literature. The Concierge will also support marketing efforts by facilitating tours and providing information about the property’s services, programs, and amenities. Duties extend beyond administrative tasks to include occasional assistance with serving meals in the dining room, all while upholding the community’s mission and values.
The position requires the ability to remain calm and show good judgment in emergency situations and everyday interactions with a diverse population, including seniors at various levels of independence and staff members. Patience, professionalism, and a cheerful disposition are essential qualities for success in this role. Physical qualifications include the ability to walk, stand, bend, squat, climb stairs, lift and carry up to 25 pounds frequently, and maintain sensory abilities required for effective communication and safety monitoring.
Overall, this Concierge position offers a unique opportunity to join a compassionate, mission-driven senior living community, making a meaningful difference in the lives of residents while working in a dynamic, supportive environment. Typical responsibilities are varied and engaging, contributing to a well-rounded role that combines customer service, administrative support, and teamwork. The successful candidate will embody the values of respect, care, and collaboration, enhancing the resident and visitor experience from the moment they arrive at the community.
