As a Concessions Supervisor at Sodexo, located at the Miami Beach Convention Center, this part-time role offers a competitive pay range of $23.00 to $25.00 per hour, with work shifts requiring open availability. The position plays a vital leadership role in managing event-based concessions operations, ensuring the smooth and efficient execution of service during high-volume events. The Concessions Supervisor oversees multiple concession stands, kiosks, portable locations, and autonomous retail concepts, supporting staff assignment, flow of service, inventory management, and prompt resolution of operational or guest-related issues. This role operates in fast-paced, dynamic environments and demands excellent organizational, communication, and supervisory skills to maintain high standards of safety, cleanliness, and customer satisfaction.

The Concessions Supervisor is responsible for conducting pre-shift briefings, training and onboarding staff, addressing guest concerns quickly and professionally, and maintaining compliance with company policies and health and safety regulations. Adaptability is key, as duties may vary based on the specific event or venue size. This position requires the physical ability to frequently lift and move up to 35 pounds and occasionally up to 40 pounds, reflecting the hands-on nature of the job. The supervisor functions as a crucial link between the frontline concession employees and unit leadership, ensuring service operations run seamlessly. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required
  • minimum of 2-4 years of experience in concessions, food service, or event-based operations required
  • prior supervisory or lead experience preferred
  • must meet minimum age requirements to supervise alcohol sales based on local and state regulations
  • must maintain a valid TIPS, TEAM, or equivalent alcohol-service certification, and comply with all state-specific alcohol training requirements
  • a food handler certification may be required based on state or local regulations
  • ability to frequently lift and move up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 40 pounds
  • attend work and show for scheduled shifts on time with satisfactory regularity

Job Duties

  • Oversee concession stands, kiosks, portable locations, and walk-out or autonomous retail stores as applicable
  • assign staff to concession locations and adjust coverage based on volume and operational needs
  • conduct pre-event or pre-shift briefings to review expectations, menus, service standards, and assignments
  • address guest concerns promptly and escalate issues to management as needed
  • support onboarding and training of concession staff and leads
  • maintain speed of service, safety, cleanliness, and adherence to company policies across all concession locations
  • assist with inventory awareness and issue resolution during events
