Job Description
This job opportunity is offered by a company specializing in pharmaceutical or biotech manufacturing, where sterile compounding and adherence to strict quality standards are paramount. The employer is a regulated entity operating within classified environments designed to maintain the sterility of pharmaceutical products. Such environments include cleanrooms with ISO 7 classification or better, where personnel must follow stringent gowning and operational procedures to ensure product safety and regulatory compliance. The organization is committed to maintaining current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP), ensuring all processes meet industry regulations and quality benchmarks. This dedication to quality makes the company a trusted partner in the health and pharmaceutical sectors, emphasizing both employee training and robust operational protocols to deliver safe, effective products to market.
The position involves assisting in compounding activities inside classified cleanroom areas, often requiring the employee to remain gowned in the ISO 7 environment for extended periods exceeding six hours per shift. The shift schedule is from 5:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., accommodating early start times to maintain production schedules. The hourly pay rate for this role is $30.00 USD, reflecting the specialized skills and compliance required for working in a controlled manufacturing environment.
The role primarily supports the sterile compounding team by assisting with essential preparatory and operational tasks. This includes setting up daily activities such as staging batches, cleaning and setting up equipment, and maintaining accurate batch records and logbooks—a critical function for regulatory compliance and product traceability. Successful candidates must demonstrate a high level of detail orientation and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced setting.
Adherence to cGMPs, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and the manufacturing schedule is vital to meet the company’s quality objectives, including the reduction of errors and deviations. Employees are expected to strive for 'Right First Time' (RFT) metrics by minimizing corrective actions and ensuring efficient, accurate work performance. Inventory control is another important aspect, with employees documenting component and material usage meticulously to support quality control and supply chain management.
Physical demands of the role include standing for extended periods—up to six hours per shift—and the ability to twist and lift materials as required. Candidates will receive training to independently assist in compounding activities and must acquire and maintain high-level gowning and media fill qualifications to work safely within the sterile environment. This position is well suited for individuals who are quality-minded, disciplined, and comfortable working under rigorous regulatory conditions. Moreover, the variety of duties and responsibilities allows employees to demonstrate flexibility and a proactive approach to continuous improvement under supervisor guidance.
