Located on the Texas coast, the museum serves as both a tribute to naval history and a vibrant center for community engagement and learning. Open seven days a week, including holidays, the museum offers visitors a unique opportunity to explore a significant piece of maritime history in an interactive and informative environment. The organization values professionalism, collaboration, and dedication to delivering meaningful experiences to all visitors and members of the community. As part of its mission, the museum actively seeks to foster strong relationships with various community groups, military organizations, and the broader public through targeted outreach and strategic communications.

The coordinator will play a central role in developing and maintaining relationships with diverse audiences, including museum members, donors, military groups, and local community organizations. Key responsibilities include managing constituent communications, coordinating community outreach events, supporting social media strategy, handling media relations, and facilitating member and military group engagement. This position also supports special events execution and administrative tasks within the marketing team.
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in business, communications, marketing, or related fields, with at least two years of professional experience in community relations or a similar area. Proficiency in content development platforms such as Canva, Constant Contact, and WordPress is required, along with working knowledge of audio/visual equipment. The role also demands excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail, and a proactive approach to fostering positive community interactions. Physically, the role requires standing, walking long distances, climbing, and occasional lifting up to 10-20 pounds in varied weather conditions. This position is eligible for a comprehensive benefits package after 60 days of employment, underscoring the organization’s commitment to employee well-being and growth.
