Job Description

Nourishing our community starts here. At Food Bank for Larimer County, we believe food is medicine. Every year, our Nutritious Kitchen produces over 300,000 meals for children, seniors, and families across northern Colorado. We are dedicated to building the next generation of programs that connect nutrition to health outcomes in innovative ways. Our organization is a vital community resource that strives to eliminate hunger and improve nutrition among vulnerable populations. We are committed to providing not only food assistance but also education and support that fosters health and wellness in Larimer County. Our approach integrates food security with broader health initiatives to address the root causes of hunger and chronic disease in our community.

In this newly created role, we are seeking a Registered Dietitian who is passionate about more than traditional clinical work. We want someone who feels equally comfortable reviewing CACFP menus in the office, leading engaging nutrition classes in the community, and actively working in a commercial kitchen environment. This role emphasizes versatility, innovation, and hands-on leadership in a fast-paced, mission-driven setting. You will have the opportunity to impact the lives of thousands by overseeing multiple federal and community nutrition programs, including SFSP, CACFP, VOA Senior Nutrition, and Catering. This position requires a dynamic professional ready to lead our Nutritious Kitchen’s daily operations, manage staff and volunteers, ensure food safety and compliance, and drive menu development using Food Processor software.

You will also play a key role in our Food is Medicine initiative, collaborating with healthcare partners to implement medically tailored nutrition interventions and grant-funded programs aimed at managing chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and addressing food insecurity. Your clinical expertise will help shape how community nutrition is delivered in Larimer County, making a direct and significant impact on over 300,000 meals served annually. As a mentor for dietetic interns and a champion for community nutrition standards, you will contribute to policy development and program evaluation.

This is a full-time position offering competitive benefits including employer-paid medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance, a $1,000 annual Health Savings Account employer contribution, a company-matched 401K plan, paid vacation and sick time, paid holidays plus a birthday day off, and access to primary care through Nice Healthcare. If you are motivated by mission, energized by variety, and ready to redefine what a food bank can achieve, this role offers a unique opportunity to advance your career while making a meaningful difference in the lives of many.
