Job Description

The Communications & Marketing Coordinator position, reporting to the Senior Director of Communications & Marketing, is an essential role designed to support the YMCA’s communication and marketing efforts. This role requires a dynamic individual who can effectively produce and implement content across various mediums, ensuring the YMCA’s story and brand are communicated authentically and engagingly to internal and external audiences. The Coordinator will be responsible for maintaining brand consistency, crafting compelling messages, and assisting in campaigns that embody the core values and mission of the YMCA of Greater Rochester. This includes creating materials that resonate with members, staff, and the broader community, reinforcing the YMCA brand and its community impact. The position is a full-time opportunity offering a competitive hourly wage of 21-24 dollars and includes a free family YMCA membership as a valuable employee benefit.
Success in this role comes from a blend of creative thinking, strategic communication, and collaborative teamwork. The Coordinator will work closely with multiple departments, particularly partnering with the Experience Team, to ensure alignment of messaging that supports strategic priorities. This role also includes project management responsibilities, managing marketing campaigns from concept to execution while adhering to established timelines and budgets. Additionally, the Coordinator will support YMCA events, contributing to promotional activities to enhance community engagement. Job Requirements
- Associate's degree required
- bachelor's degree in graphic design, communications, marketing or a related field preferred

Job Duties
- Collaborate in the development of creative concepts and messaging across print and digital platforms
- ensure all campaigns clearly reflect YMCA values and drive engagement with key audiences
- apply a strong understanding of the YMCA brand, voice and community impact to create compelling, engaging materials
- ensure consistency in design, tone and messaging across all channels to maintain brand integrity and strengthen community recognition
- partner closely with the Experience Team to align messaging and support strategic priorities
- lead assigned projects from concept through execution, developing clear timelines and managing priorities
- support and help coordinate YMCA events ensuring strong promotional presence and alignment with overall engagement strategies
