In this dynamic context, AWS is seeking a Commissioning Engineer (CxE) to join their team. This role is pivotal in overseeing and coordinating multi-discipline work related to the design review and commissioning of Amazon's critical infrastructure for new construction projects and other specialized undertakings. The CxE is entrusted with supporting vendors, contractors, and cross-functional teams involved in the construction and commissioning phases for various systems including medium and low voltage power systems, generators, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), chilled water, building management systems (BMS), and emergency power management systems (EPMS).

The Commissioning Engineer is responsible for contributing expert input in scheduling, test script development, designing, and project planning. They develop and review testing protocols for electrical and mechanical components and integrated systems to ensure compliance with design bases, specifications, industry standards, and operational sequences. Equally important is the enforcement of safety practices and policies throughout all commissioning procedures. Continuous auditing ensures that commissioning activities meet environmental, quality, and safety standards.

Reporting regularly to regional managers, the CxE communicates status updates, shares lessons learned, and suggests program improvements aimed at enhancing the overall quality of commissioning operations. The role demands flexibility, as it involves managing multiple projects with tight deadlines and requires physical ability to navigate diverse job sites safely. Positions for this role are available in various locations including Dallas/Fort Worth, Denver, and Avondale, with competitive compensation ranging between $116,800 and $160,000 annually.
