The Commissary Supervisor role, reporting to the Commissary Manager, is an integral position within Aramark's operations at correctional facilities. This role involves managing the day-to-day operations of commissary services to ensure that each jail location receives the correct products on time, maintaining the quality and accuracy of items distributed. The position requires overseeing all activities related to receiving, tagging, pricing, and storing incoming merchandise, coordinating internal logistics, and ensuring excellent customer service standards are consistently met. Additionally, the supervisor will handle cashier duties when necessary to expedite guest transactions, demonstrating adaptability and a hands-on leadership approach.
Beyond operational management, the Commissary Supervisor plays a key role in organizing special events and projects such as holiday sales and book signings, elevating the commissary’s offering for guests. A strong focus on training new hires, following emergency procedures, and effective communication with team members highlights the importance of leadership and safety in the role. Proficiency with point-of-sale systems and inventory management is critical, as is the ability to work collaboratively with the General Manager and Commissary Manager to maintain productivity and stock accuracy.

Job Requirements
- Two years experience in a like employment environment or equivalent
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to lift, bend, push, pull and/or stand or walk for extended periods
- Willingness to wear uniforms and personal protective equipment
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Proficiency in point-of-sale systems
- Ability to work collaboratively with team members
Job Qualifications
- Two years experience in a like employment environment or equivalent
- High school diploma or equivalent
Job Duties
- Supervises the receiving, tagging, pricing, and storing of all incoming merchandise
- Assigns daily tasks to gift commissary staff and ensures tasks are performed correctly and timely while maintaining customer service standards
- Coordinates the moving of incoming merchandise to retail office, storage areas, and/or display floor
- Cashiers when necessary to expedite the processing of guest purchases
- Orchestrates special projects such as holidays, events, and book signings
- Follows through with information to team members on new products or procedures using the information book on the floor
- Works with the General Manager and Commissary Manager to take inventory and use complete productivity on the floor
- Demonstrates full understanding of the point-of-sale system
- Assists guests in any possible way
- Trains new hires on POS system, overall safety, and job responsibilities
- Implements and follows up all emergency procedures
