The Area Mechanic - Kitchen Tech role at Walt Disney World is a vital field service position responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and upkeep of kitchen-related equipment throughout the resort. The Area Mechanic is expected to service and repair complex kitchen systems, including soda and beer drink systems, ensuring the highest levels of operational efficiency for Walt Disney World's extensive food service locations. The job involves working in varied and sometimes challenging environments such as elevated platforms and confined spaces across the Resort's property.

The successful candidate will possess at least four years of experience troubleshooting and maintaining commercial kitchen equipment, with a strong understanding of electrical controls, heating systems, plumbing, and CO2 systems. Proficiency in reading blueprints and schematics is essential, as well as the ability to use specialized diagnostic tools like multimeters and refrigerant gauges. Physical demands include the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and the role requires excellent written and interpersonal communication skills coupled with technological proficiency in standard office software and mobile devices. Safety is a priority; thus, Cast Members may be required to handle cleaning chemicals safely and use appropriate personal protective equipment such as face shields and goggles.
