The company’s culture is deeply rooted in six core values that drive its everyday operations: PUSH (Invent Better Places to Live), GRIT (We Got This), LIFT (Help Each Other Win), SHINE (Bring Your Full Self), UPHOLD (Never Break Trust), and GROW (Always Get Better). This unique culture fosters a collaborative and innovative environment dedicated to continuously enhancing the resident experience and pioneering new ways of living.
At New Here Coffee, a vibrant coffee shop located within Core Spaces' student housing communities, the focus is on fueling campus energy and connection one cup at a time. New Here Coffee has become a beloved spot for residents, students, and coffee enthusiasts, offering quality drinks and a welcoming atmosphere that enriches the student living experience. Whether students are rushing between classes, seeking a quiet place to study, or socializing with friends, New Here Coffee provides a vibrant community hub on campus.
The Coffee Shop Manager role is a leadership position integral to maintaining the high standards and positive energy within the coffee shop. In this role, you will lead a team of student baristas, oversee daily operations, manage inventory, schedule shifts, and ensure a top-notch experience for both employees and guests. This position requires someone passionate about coffee culture, team building, and operational excellence. You will be accountable for recruiting, training, and mentoring your team to foster confidence and skill development while managing the day-to-day activities needed to keep the café running smoothly.
As Coffee Shop Manager, you will personally engage in shift management including opening and closing duties, cash handling, and performance tracking. Your leadership will energize the team during peak hours and create a culture of inclusivity and engagement. The role also involves maintaining equipment, managing supply orders to prevent overages, and ensuring compliance with food safety and sanitation policies. Occasional travel may be required. This permanent, full-time role offers a competitive salary with performance-based incentives and a robust benefits package. Core Spaces values its employees and provides paid flexible PTO, paid holidays including birthdays, parental leave, health plans, retirement options, wellness perks, and an inclusive work environment where your voice matters.

The ideal candidate has 1-2 years of leadership experience in coffee, food and beverage, or hospitality settings, strong organizational and communication skills, and the ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting 25+ lbs and standing for extended periods. Experience in college cafés, student housing environments or startup coffee shops, as well as event planning or community engagement, is highly desirable. Core Spaces is an Equal Opportunity Employer dedicated to diversity, equity, and inclusion, ensuring a workplace where all employees can thrive and feel a strong sense of belonging. Join Core Spaces and New Here Coffee to be part of a team inventing better places to live and vibrant campus communities one cup at a time.
