The Cocktail Server role is an essential position within the Food and Beverage department. Cocktail Servers are responsible for delivering exceptional guest service by serving food and beverages in a courteous and friendly manner, in line with established brand and hotel guest service standards. The role requires greeting guests, taking beverage orders, serving drinks, and fulfilling guest requests efficiently and with a positive attitude. The Cocktail Server must adhere strictly to state, federal, and corporate policies regarding the serving of alcoholic beverages, ensuring responsible service.
The role also encompasses operational duties including stocking service stations with necessary items such as ice, napkins, and straws, and following cash handling and bank operating procedures accurately. Cocktail Servers are expected to perform side work duties according to schedules and assist with other food and beverage functions like bartending and bussing during staffing shortages or peak periods, demonstrating flexibility and teamwork.
A critical aspect of this position is maintaining high guest satisfaction scores by ensuring attentive and proactive service. Servers are encouraged to practice safe work habits, wear required protective safety equipment, and comply with all Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) standards. The work schedule can vary and may include holidays, weekends, and alternate shifts. This dynamic and engaging position provides a career advancement path within the hospitality industry, with opportunities to progress into roles such as Bartender, Beverage Manager, and Food and Beverage Manager. Joining Renaissance Denver Central Park Hotel as a Cocktail Server means becoming part of a dedicated team focused on excellence, service, and creating memorable guest experiences.
