Job Description
The Partnership to Reduce Cancer in Rhode Island (PRCRI) is a prominent 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that operates as the Rhode Island State Cancer Coalition. Established with the mission to lead and collaborate on initiatives aimed at preventing cancer and enhancing the quality of life for all Rhode Islanders living with cancer, PRCRI plays a crucial role in community health. The organization works closely with the Comprehensive Cancer Control Program (CCCP) at the Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH) to support the implementation of the Rhode Island State Cancer Plan. This plan focuses on multiple key areas including primary prevention, secondary prevention and screening, survivorship and caregiving, as well as health equity. PRCRI’s multifaceted approach encompasses education, advocacy, and the provision of supportive resources, positioning it as a leader in cancer control and prevention efforts across the state.
We are currently seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Coalition Coordinator to join our team on a full-time basis. This important position is designed for an energetic individual who excels at organization and proactive project management. The Coalition Coordinator will be instrumental in driving the coalition’s strategic agenda as outlined in the Rhode Island State Cancer Plan. This includes facilitating coalition activities, engaging and recruiting community partners, coordinating educational programs and screenings, managing communications, and planning significant events such as the Annual Cancer Summit. This role requires a professional who can serve as a primary project manager, ensuring that the coalition’s initiatives are executed efficiently and effectively. The Coordinator will liaise with various work groups including Prevention, Screening & Early Detection, Lung Cancer Screening Roundtable, Oral Health Task Force, Palliative Care, and Skin Cancer Screening Planning groups.
The position offers a hybrid work structure based out of Providence, Rhode Island, combining both in-office and remote work flexibility. The salary range for this role is $48,000 to $54,000 annually, with a full benefits package including immediate accrual of paid time off, health and dental coverage, a 401(k) plan with employer match, life and disability insurance, and professional development opportunities. The position demands someone with excellent communication skills, comfort in public speaking, proficiency with various software platforms including Salesforce and social media management tools, as well as the physical ability to participate in event setup. A valid driver's license and vehicle access are also necessary for state travel. If you're passionate about public health, health equity, cancer prevention, and community advocacy, and are seeking a chance to make a significant impact in Rhode Island, this role at PRCRI offers a rewarding career opportunity.
