The role of a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) within the Children’s Medical Services Department is vital. This professional facilitates care by providing patients and families with a comprehensive, continuous plan of care designed to enhance their adjustment to illness and promote wellness. The LCSW identifies the needs of patients and families requiring community support services through review of medical records, participation in multidisciplinary team meetings, and collaboration with clinical staff.
