Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in nutrition, dietetics or related field
  • Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential
  • Minimum 2 years of work experience as a clinical dietitian
  • Licensed Dietitian status in Pennsylvania
  • Ability to earn and maintain applicable certifications, registrations, licenses, credentials and continuing education requirements
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to work in a busy hospital and outpatient settings
  • Ability to coordinate and manage clinical nutrition staff
  • Commitment to patient-centered care and continuous improvement

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in nutrition, dietetics or related field
  • Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential
  • At least 2 years of work experience as a clinical dietitian
  • At least 1-2 years of supervisory experience preferred
  • Licensed Dietitian status in Pennsylvania
  • Ability to earn and maintain applicable certifications, registrations, licenses, credentials and continuing education requirements

Job Duties

  • Assess patient's nutritional status and develop individualized nutrition plans based on their medical history, current health status, and specific needs
  • Provide education and counseling to patients and their families on proper nutrition, healthy eating habits, and lifestyle changes
  • Create and maintain policies, standards and programs for the provision of optimal, cost-effective nutrition care
  • Coordinate and direct all clinical activities and determine and implement appropriate staffing levels
  • Develop goals and objectives for Clinical Nutrition to maintain high quality care
  • Assist in the performance planning process for dietitians and dietetic interns and interview, select and train employees within the Food and Nutrition Services
  • Participate in the budget process
  • Recognize and adopt activities appropriate to the specific needs of the patient population and demonstrate knowledge of specific issues directly related to age of patient population
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other facility departments to provide a unified approach to patient care
  • Craft and integrate department goals with client annual goals and visions
  • Develop, implement and document in-service education programs for registered dietitians, dietetic interns and other nutrition personnel, including hourly dietary staff, to provide continuing education and training
  • Engage in and encourage staff to participate in research, submit to professional publications and professional and community lectures
  • Maintain systems and training programs to provide a safe working environment
