The Clinical Concierge Medical Assistant (MA)/Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) role at Texas Health Breeze Urgent Care in Dallas is a full-time position requiring the candidate to work three 12-hour shifts a week with a rotating schedule, including days, weekends, and holidays from 7:45 AM to 8:15 PM. The Clinical Concierge serves as a crucial member of the urgent care team, floating across multiple Texas Health Urgent Care locations as needed. The role focuses on guiding patients and their accompanying guests through the entire urgent care visit experience while ensuring clinical excellence and maximizing service throughput. The Clinical Concierge combines patient-facing responsibilities such as registration, payment collection, and discharge with clinical duties including assisting providers with care procedures, laboratory testing, vitals assessment, medication administration, and emergency care support. This role demands a compassionate, professional, and customer-focused attitude to build trust and comfort with patients, fostering positive relationships and enhancing overall patient satisfaction. The Clinical Concierge works under the supervision of the Site Manager and closely collaborates with providers and other clinical staff to deliver seamless and effective patient care.

This position requires certification or registration as a Medical Assistant or licensure as a Vocational Nurse in the state of Texas, along with a minimum of 6 months of previous clinical experience or completion of an internal medical assistant externship program. Competence in handling electronic health records, specifically EPIC, is preferred. The Clinical Concierge must maintain current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification, hold valid Texas Health Urine Drug Collector training, and demonstrate the ability to perform venipuncture and administer oral and intramuscular medications safely. The role offers the opportunity to earn over 20 contact hours during orientation, which can be used to renew the candidate's medical assistant certification. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Successful completion of a Medical Assistant education program certified or registered medical assistant or completion of a Vocational Nurse program
  • Six months of previous healthcare facility clinical experience as a LVN, MA, CNA, or other patient care experience or completion of an internal THR MA externship training program in lieu of experience
  • Certified or registered medical assistant or licensed vocational nurse state of Texas if LVN upon hire
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification within 30 days of hire
  • Texas Health Urine Drug Collector training within 30 days of hire
  • Ability to perform venipuncture
  • Ability to provide independent patient care

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Successful completion of a Medical Assistant education program certified or registered medical assistant or successful completion of a Vocational Nurse program
  • Certified or registered medical assistant or licensed vocational nurse state of Texas, if LVN upon hire
  • Six months of previous healthcare facility clinical experience as a LVN, MA, CNA, or other patient care experience or completion of an internal THR MA externship training program in lieu of experience
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification maintained every two years
  • Texas Health Urine Drug Collector training maintained every five years
  • Previous experience with electronic health record preferred
  • Ability to perform venipuncture with competency check-off

Job Duties

  • Collects identification and payor related documentation, conducts registration using EPIC workflow
  • Measures and documents vitals and communicates the resulting data to the consumer and provider, including temperature, pulse, oxygen saturation, respiration, blood pressure, height, weight, and pain level
  • Documents chief complaint, allergies, health history, and current medications accurately in EPIC for review by provider
  • Performs and documents laboratory testing and collections per provider orders and/or standard operating procedures, to include venipuncture with prior competency check-off
  • Administers and documents oral and intramuscular medication using the appropriate medication verification workflow
  • Assists provider with procedures including maintaining sterile field, laceration repair, incision and drainage, application of ortho-goods and assists with ortho-glass application
  • Behaves in a professional and empathetic manner to build trust, comfort, and relationships with consumers and their guests
  • Welcomes consumers and guests with eye contact, smile, greeting, and personal introduction, and inquires about the purpose and nature of the visit
  • Recognizes and notifies provider immediately of emergent patients, performs BLS, provides oxygen administration, and assists provider with emergency care
  • Schedules primary care referrals for consumers
  • Maintains office supplies, medical supplies, and medications at appropriate par levels
  • Performs quality checks throughout facility as per policies and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned
