The current opening is for a part-time Medical Assistant position at the LVPG-L Internal Med ExpressCare located in Tower Place, Bethlehem. This role is primarily focused on day shifts but involves working from 8 am to 8 pm Sunday through Saturday, with rotating holidays and weekends. This position is crucial as it serves as the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a seamless patient experience through administrative, clerical, and clinical responsibilities. The Medical Assistant collaborates closely with healthcare providers, clinical teams, and administrative staff to optimize clinic workflow, enhance patient care coordination, and deliver exceptional customer service. This position helps with patient check-in and check-out, appointment scheduling, insurance verification, collecting vital patient data, assisting providers in examinations, administering medications and vaccinations within scope, and supportive tasks related to medical procedures. Job Requirements
- Specialized diploma as a medical assistant or completion of LVPG Medical Assistant Trainee course
- Strong multitasking, organizational and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in EMR systems, word processing and Excel
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities while maintaining efficiency in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills demonstrating empathy and professionalism
- Exceptional customer service and phone etiquette
- Knowledge of clinical workflows, medical terminology and basic patient care practices
- BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association within 30 days from hire
Job Qualifications

- One year customer service experience in healthcare
- Certification such as CCMA, CMA, CMAC, MAC, NCMA, NRCMA, or RMA upon hire
Job Duties
- Behaves in a professional and empathetic manner to build trust, comfort, understanding and relationships with consumers and secondary guests
- Coordinate and perform patient check-in/check-out, ensuring accurate registration and information collection
- Verify insurance eligibility, collect payments, and process referrals
- Schedule appointments while optimizing clinic workflow
- Handle patient inquiries
- Maintain electronic medical records, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Maintain all required logs including quality control logs and stat cart checks
- Measure and collect patient data including temperature, pulse, oxygen saturation, respirations, blood pressure, height, weight, and pediatric measurements
- Assist providers with patient information collection including reason for visit, chief complaint, health history, allergies and current medications
- Complete patient rooming process and implement standard operating procedures to expedite care
- Identify patient risks and communicate to the provider
- Prepare and maintain exam rooms, ensuring sanitation and stocking supplies
- Collect and prepare lab specimens and complete requisitions
- Administer medications and vaccinations per provider orders within scope
- Support patient procedures and assist with medical examinations
- Complete follow-up phone calls to patients post discharge
