Gensler is a global design and architecture firm renowned for delivering innovative and sustainable design solutions that shape the way people live, work, and interact with their environments. Founded in 1965, Gensler has grown to become one of the most influential professional services companies in the world, with a strong commitment to creativity, sustainability, and community engagement. The firm's culture emphasizes collaboration, diversity, and the continuous development of its employees, fostering an environment where innovation thrives and team members are empowered to contribute to meaningful projects across various industries. Based in San Francisco, CA, this position is a full-time role offering a competitive salary range between $100,000 and $115,000 plus bonuses and benefits, contingent upon relevant experience.
The role of Hospitality and Events Manager at Gensler is a highly visible and impactful position focused on enhancing the overall client, guest, employee, and workplace experiences through exceptional hospitality and event programming. This role is essential in creating memorable moments and cultivating a vibrant office culture aligned with Gensler's strategic vision. Responsibilities include overseeing client and VIP events, managing front-of-house guest experiences, coordinating special workplace hospitality initiatives, and delivering key cultural programs that engage employees and promote a sense of community. This position requires a professional with a strong executive presence, keen attention to detail, and the ability to anticipate and meet the diverse needs of clients and colleagues in a fast-paced, creative office environment.
The Hospitality and Events Manager collaborates closely with Office Managing Directors, Marketing, and Communications leadership to ensure that all efforts support the broader organizational goals and external engagement. The candidate will lead the planning and execution of both internal events such as Bonus Day, Holiday Parties, and Thanksgiving celebrations, as well as large-scale external events involving clients and industry partners like the ULI Red Party and Climate Week. This role also supports global studio and firmwide programs, facilitating watch parties and other initiatives that foster connection and inspiration across teams.
In addition to events management, this position is instrumental in driving community engagement through workplace-related communications, supporting affinity groups, and administering employee perks such as lunch subscriptions, museum memberships, and wellness offerings. The role partners with Facilities to maintain high standards of office cleanliness, organization, and operational protocols that enhance the daily experience for everyone in the workspace.
Ideal candidates will bring at least five years of hospitality or office management experience, preferably within professional services or architectural firms. They should demonstrate excellent judgment, resourcefulness, and the ability to handle multiple priorities effectively. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Teams, and Zoom, along with a comfort level for adopting new technologies, is essential. Candidates with a passion for sustainability and wellness initiatives and a client-focused approach to delivering exceptional service will thrive in this role. Gensler provides a supportive and dynamic workplace where employees can grow professionally while contributing to a culture that values well-being, creativity, and continuous learning.
