The role of the Cleaner is essential in upholding the aesthetic and functional quality of our corporate environment. This position involves performing a variety of janitorial duties that ensure the cleanliness and upkeep of indoor spaces—and occasionally outdoor areas when requested. The Cleaner will be actively engaged in floor care activities such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and scrubbing to keep all areas sanitary and safe. Additionally, the role requires the use of specialized machinery and cleaning chemicals, necessitating strict adherence to safety protocols to prevent accidents or injury. The commitment to safety and quality is paramount, making this position crucial for sustaining a positive atmosphere that supports productivity.

Located primarily at the Widener College Chester Campus in Pennsylvania, the Cleaner role offers an hourly wage of $18.00 and requires working the 3rd shift Monday through Friday from 10:00 pm to 6:30 am. The job site is cleaned five days per week, with an additional requirement for occasional weekend shifts approximately every 4 to 6 weeks. This role demands reliability, attention to detail, and the physical capability to perform cleaning tasks effectively. The ideal candidate will be equipped with their own transportation to ensure punctuality.

Beyond the basic janitorial cleaning responsibilities, the Cleaner will perform daily sanitization of key areas such as office spaces, exam rooms, restrooms, and common areas. Tasks include dusting, glass cleaning, emptying trash, and restocking paper products to maintain a hygienic and welcoming environment. The Cleaner’s role extends to thorough floor maintenance, including scrubbing and other floor care activities. Physical demands require the ability to lift over 20 pounds regularly, as well as the capacity to bend, stretch, twist, reach above the head, squat, and stand or walk for extended periods. Climbing stairs is also part of the routine duties.

Candidates for this position should possess experience with janitorial or cleaning roles, although it is not mandatory. What is essential is a high level of responsibility, adherence to safety standards while using cleaning equipment, and the ability to work independently during night shifts.
