Job Description
Performance Food Group (PFG) is a leading broadline foodservice distributor committed to supporting a diverse range of customers, including independent restaurants, hotels, healthcare facilities, schools, and quick-service eateries. With a strong dedication to building lasting partnerships, PFG offers a comprehensive suite of services that extend beyond food delivery, encompassing menu development, operational strategies, and expert advice to help clients achieve their business goals. Recognized for its inclusive and respectful work culture, PFG values employee growth, safety, and well-being, providing competitive pay alongside a robust benefits package that includes day-one health and wellness coverage, an employee stock purchase plan, 401K employer matching, education assistance, and paid time off.
The company is currently seeking a Formula CDL-B Driver to join its team in Rogers, MN. This role is pivotal to PFG’s mission to ensure that food and foodservice products are delivered safely and on time, directly supporting America's food distribution system. The position offers a starting hourly wage of $24 during the training period, with opportunities for component pay adjustments after training. Work schedules consist of a five-day week within Monday through Saturday, averaging 10 to 12-hour days with early morning dispatch times between midnight and 5 a.m. Additionally, a $5,000 sign-on bonus is available for eligible new hires, designed to attract experienced and dedicated drivers.
As a Formula CDL-B Driver, the individual will be responsible for operating tractor trailers or straight trucks across intrastate and interstate routes, including local, over-the-road, shuttle, and overnight drive-and-drop assignments. This role demands strict adherence to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety policies, with responsibilities encompassing vehicle inspections, freight verification, delivery accuracy, and customer interaction. The driver acts as a key representative of the company in the field, ensuring customer satisfaction by delivering products in optimal condition and fostering professional relationships.
Drivers must perform pre- and post-trip inspections, report safety issues, ensure freight is properly secured, and maintain accurate delivery and freight paperwork. The role requires manual handling and loading/unloading of freight, sometimes involving weights between 10 and 90 pounds, with the use of equipment such as two-wheelers and lift gates. Drivers are also tasked with keeping their vehicle and work area clean, logging hours of service to comply with federal and state regulations, and securing equipment at the end of the shift. Effective communication with customers, supervisors, and other team members is essential to provide timely and accurate updates.
This position requires candidates to be at least 21 years of age and possess a valid CDL-B license alongside a clean Motor Vehicle Report for the past three years. Prospective drivers must have at least 12 months of commercial driving experience and successfully pass a post-offer drug test, criminal background check, road test, and hold or be able to obtain a current DOT Health Card. The job entails physical demands such as hand-lifting and operating equipment to manage product cases of varying sizes and weights.
Joining PFG means becoming part of a trusted industry leader dedicated to diversity, equity, and inclusion. The company provides equal employment opportunities to all applicants and employees without discrimination based on race, color, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, veteran status, disability, and other legally protected categories. Performance Food Group continuously fosters a culture of safety, respect, and recognition, ensuring employees are supported as valuable members of a dynamic team.
