This role is for a Driver, Shuttle, who plays a vital role in the food supply chain by safely transporting empty and full trailers between warehouse locations and shuttle yards. The position offers competitive pay with a starting average salary of $60,000+ per year and benefits including a $4,000 sign-on bonus, Day 1 Health & Wellness benefits, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, 401K employer matching, education assistance, and paid time off among others. The work schedule is a 4-day week, Sunday through Thursday nights starting at 6 pm dispatch, providing employees a balance between work and personal life.

The Driver, Shuttle, is responsible for intrastate and interstate routes utilizing tandem trailers, tractor trailers, and/or straight trucks. This role involves pre and post-trip inspections in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations to ensure vehicle and trailer safety. Drivers must maintain timely deliveries, execute hook/unhook procedures per safety guidelines, and handle freight carefully by following the company’s protocols to secure loads and transport goods without damages. Driving safely according to DOT and company guidelines is emphasized, and the driver acts as a representative of Core-Mark, fostering positive relationships with customers, vendors, and co-workers.

Additional responsibilities include parking and storing vehicles, securing equipment and freight, managing damaged goods and returns adequately, completing daily logs of hours of service, performing general housekeeping duties, and upholding cleanliness and safety within trucks and loading dock areas. The position demands physical labor including hand-lifting and use of equipment like two-wheelers and lift gates to move product cases that may weigh between 60 to 90 pounds. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience
  • Valid CDL A
  • Must be 21 years of age
  • Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements where applicable
  • Clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for past 3 years
  • Pass pre-employment drug test
  • Pass road test
  • Valid current DOT health card and/or able to secure new DOT health card
  • Able to hand-lift and utilize two-wheeler, lift gate and/or other equipment to move and/or stack product cases/freight of varying size and weight throughout shift
  • Product generally ranges from approximately 60 to 90 pounds, depending on the location

Job Duties

  • Performs all required safety checks including pre/post trip inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to DOT regulations
  • Reports all safety issues and/or repairs required
  • Follows all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies
  • Ensures all required route paperwork is with tractor trailer load and available to driver upon dispatch
  • Drives and delivers trailers according to predetermined route schedule
  • Performs hook/unhook procedures per safety guidelines
  • Parks and stores tractor trailers in designated areas
  • Ensures all equipment and freight are appropriately locked and/or always secured
  • Collects and secures damaged goods and customer returns in empty trailer to bring back to driver check-in at base facility and complete necessary paperwork
  • Unloads all equipment, materials and removes trash from trailers as required
  • Completes daily record of hours of service and enter in log in accordance with Federal DOT, state, and company requirements
  • Performs general housekeeping duties in tractor, loading dock area and keep trailers clear and clean as required
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
