Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 6+ months commercial driving experience
  • valid CDL A license
  • must be 21 years of age or older
  • meet all state licensing and certification requirements
  • clean motor vehicle report for past 3 years
  • pass post offer drug test
  • pass road test
  • attain or have valid current DOT health card
  • able to hand-lift and utilize two-wheeler, lift gate and other equipment to move product cases of varying sizes and weights throughout shift

  • High school diploma or GED

  • must be 21 years of age or older
  • meet all state licensing and certification requirements where applicable
  • clean motor vehicle report for the past 3 years
  • pass post offer drug test
  • pass road test
  • attain or have current valid DOT health card
  • able to hand-lift and utilize equipment such as two-wheelers and lift gates to move product cases
  • effective communication and customer service skills

Job Duties

  • Attend and successfully complete PFG Entry Level Driver Trainee or Dock to Driver Training Program as required
  • ride with and assist driver trainer in executing deliveries
  • perform all required safety checks including pre and post trip inspections of tractor, truck, and trailer according to DOT regulations
  • report all safety issues and repairs required
  • follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines
  • inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight
  • perform count checks of items and verify customer invoices
  • drive to and deliver customer orders according to predetermined route delivery schedule
  • unload products and transport items into designated customer storage areas
  • perform damage control checks on items and communicate with supervisor as necessary
  • verify delivery of items with customer and obtain proper signatures
  • collect money where required
  • load customer returns and secure trailer doors
  • ensure tractor, trailer, and freight are locked and secured
  • unload damaged goods and complete necessary paperwork
  • complete daily record of hours of service and maintain logbooks
  • perform general housekeeping duties in tractor, loading dock, and trailer areas
  • secure all equipment and complete paperwork at the end of shifts
  • perform other related duties as assigned
