This position is for an entry-level driver trainee within the company’s logistics and transportation team, offering a comprehensive driver training program to equip new hires with the necessary skills and experience to operate tractor trailers or straight trucks safely and efficiently. The role offers a competitive salary range of $80,000 to $100,000 annually and follows a 4-5 day work week schedule, requiring availability Monday through Saturday. As a driver trainee, individuals will participate in structured training programs such as the PFG Entry Level Driver Trainee or Dock to Driver Training Program, designed to build proficiency in operating various commercial vehicles. Duties revolve around learning to drive intrastate or interstate local, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight routes. Trainees will assist experienced driver trainers, performing deliveries, conducting safety checks, inspecting freight, maintaining accurate delivery records, and adhering strictly to Department of Transportation regulations. The role also requires communication and interaction with customers, vendors, and coworkers in a professional manner to ensure that service and operational standards are upheld at all times.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience
- Valid CDL A
- 6 months commercial driving experience
- Must be 21 years old
- Meet all state licensing and certification requirements where applicable
- Clean motor vehicle report for past 3 years
- Pass post offer drug test
- Pass road test
- Valid current DOT health card
- Ability to hand-lift and use two-wheeler, lift gate, or other equipment to move product cases weighing 60 to 90 pounds
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience
- Valid CDL A
- Minimum of 6 months commercial driving experience
- Must be 21 years of age
- Meet all state licensing and certification requirements where applicable
- Clean motor vehicle report for past 3 years
- Pass post offer drug test
- Pass road test
- Attain or have valid current DOT health card
- Ability to hand-lift and utilize two-wheeler, lift gate, and other equipment to move and stack product cases and freight generally ranging from 60 to 90 pounds
Job Duties
- Attend and successfully complete entry level driver trainee or dock to driver training program as required
- Ride with and assist driver trainer in executing deliveries
- Perform all required safety checks including pre and post trip inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to DOT regulations
- Follow all DOT regulations and company safety guidelines and policies
- Inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight and complete all required paperwork
- Drive to and deliver customer orders according to predetermined route delivery schedule
- Unload products from the trailer and transport items into designated customer storage areas
- Perform damage control checks and verify delivery with customer signatures
- Collect money where required
- Load customer returns onto the trailer and secure trailer doors
- Ensure tractor, trailer, and freight are appropriately locked and secured
- Unload damaged goods and customer returns and complete necessary paperwork
- Perform general housekeeping duties in tractor and loading dock area and secure all equipment at end of shift
- Complete daily record of hours of service and enter log in accordance with Federal DOT, state and company requirements
- Perform other related duties as assigned
