Job Description

Maine Oxy is a reputable industrial gas company that has established itself as a reliable provider of specialty gases and related equipment. Located in Baytown, TX, the company focuses on innovative solutions and exceptional customer service targeting various industries including healthcare, manufacturing, and research sectors. They are known for their commitment to safety, efficiency, and environmental responsibility, which positions them as an employer of choice in the region. With a strong presence in Texas and neighboring states, Maine Oxy combines local expertise with a robust operational network, creating consistent opportunities for professional growth and development.

Currently, Maine Oxy is actively seeking a Class A Driver with a Hazmat Endorsement. This role is essential to their daily operations and forms a critical part of their distribution logistics team. The Class A Driver will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of helium compressed gas cylinders to customers across Texas, Louisiana, and Oklahoma. The position is based out of Baytown, TX and is not a home-daily role; it requires overnight travel with the driver spending three to four nights away from home per week.

The schedule involves departing from Baytown every Monday morning and returning on Friday, traveling over the road Monday through Friday. The driver will cover one of the four assigned zones each week, providing focused service within a consistent geographic area. This structure allows for flexibility and efficiency while supporting strong customer relationships. The hourly pay ranges from 27 to 29 dollars, with additional overtime opportunities and a highly competitive sign-on bonus of 2,500 dollars paid in structured installments. Safety performance is rewarded with an annual bonus of up to 2,000 dollars.

The role demands not only driving expertise but also a strong commitment to compliance and safety standards. Daily vehicle inspections, adherence to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, and accurate completion of delivery paperwork are crucial responsibilities. The job also involves loading and unloading helium cylinders, maintaining inventory, and building rapport with regular customers to ensure their needs are met. Maine Oxy values drivers who demonstrate professionalism, responsibility, and a proactive attitude toward company goals.

Maine Oxy’s benefits package is comprehensive and designed to support employees’ health, financial security, and work-life balance. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, company-paid short-term disability, life insurance, and options for long-term disability. Employees can also take advantage of a 401(k) plan with a generous 50 percent employer match up to 6 percent contributions, annual reimbursement for boots and pants, and paid time off starting at three weeks within the first year.

This position is well suited for candidates with a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and Hazmat endorsement, along with driving experience or recent driving school training. The physical demands of this role require the ability to safely handle heavy payloads and work in varying weather conditions, with the capacity to lift significant weight and perform job duties that include cognitive and sensory skills such as vision and hearing. Maine Oxy emphasizes safety and seeks individuals who are prepared to meet the rigorous demands of hazardous cargo transportation while maintaining a high level of customer service and professionalism throughout all deliveries.
