The company operates several facilities and serves a broad customer base across multiple states, maintaining high standards of safety, compliance, and professionalism. The company prides itself on supporting its workforce with competitive compensation, benefits, and opportunities for growth and development within the industry.
Maine Oxy is currently seeking a dedicated Class A Driver with a Hazmat Endorsement for their Naugatuck, CT location. This role is essential in the safe and timely delivery of helium compressed gas cylinders to customers across Upstate New York. The position offers a full-time, year-round schedule that includes overnight travel 3 to 4 nights per week and operates primarily Monday through Friday. The driver will be responsible for managing deliveries within defined territories divided into four zones to ensure routes remain consistent and efficient week by week.
The role requires professional handling of hazardous materials, strict adherence to DOT and OSHA regulations, and routine performance of vehicle inspections before and after trips. Drivers will establish strong customer relations by communicating directly with clients, monitoring product needs, and adjusting delivery schedules to minimize emergency demands. Additionally, the driver will assist with warehouse operations such as loading, unloading, and product organization, contributing to a seamless supply chain.
Maine Oxy values the safety and well-being of its employees and offers potential safety bonuses totaling up to $2,000 annually as an incentive for maintaining safe driving practices. New hires will also receive a $2,500 sign-on bonus. The company offers comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, life insurance, long-term and short-term disability coverage, a 401(k) retirement plan with a 50% company match up to 6%, and paid parental leave. Employee reimbursements for safety gear such as boots and pants are also provided.
In addition to competitive pay and benefits, this role offers opportunities for overtime work during peak seasons (January through June), allowing for increased earning potential. The position requires physical capability to handle heavy lifting, exposure to varied weather conditions, and the ability to detect hazardous gas leaks. Maine Oxy prioritizes equal employment opportunities, fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment.
This career opportunity is ideal for candidates with a valid CDL A license, hazardous materials endorsement, and a commitment to safety and customer service within the logistics and transportation sector. Maine Oxy’s structured route system and supportive team environment provide the foundations for a rewarding and stable driving career in the industrial gas industry.
