This role primarily involves operating tractor-trailer or straight trucks on intrastate and interstate routes, including local routes and occasionally one overnight trip per week. The scheduled workweek is Monday through Friday, with dispatch times between 4 a.m. and 6 a.m., and the job location is at 30300 Emerald Valley Parkway, Glenwillow, Ohio. Candidates are encouraged to walk in for same-day application assistance and interviews, reflecting Core-Mark’s accessible hiring process.
In this position, drivers perform all necessary safety inspections consistent with Department of Transportation regulations and company standards, ensuring the equipment and freight are secure and compliant. The role requires precise documentation, including completing required paperwork related to freight and hours of service logs. Drivers handle loading and unloading duties, product checks, and damage control, as well as customer interactions such as verifying deliveries, obtaining signatures, and processing payments when needed.
Core-Mark emphasizes internal promotion and continuous development, providing frequent training opportunities in multiple formats that help employees achieve their career goals. This role is not only essential but also offers potential for personal and professional growth within a supportive and respectful corporate atmosphere. Safety, compliance, and teamwork lie at the heart of this position, aligning with Core-Mark’s dedication to excellence in service and employee well-being. The position demands physical ability to handle product cases ranging generally between 10 to 90 pounds, using equipment such as two-wheelers and lift gates to safely manage freight during shifts.
