The role of Food and Food Service Delivery Driver at Core-Mark is integral to the company's success and the broader food supply chain. Delivery drivers serve as the company's frontline representatives, building lasting relationships with customers through dependable and professional service. The position requires operating tractor-trailers or straight trucks on various routes, including local, shuttle, intrastate, interstate, overnight, and drive-and-drop routes. The responsibilities emphasize safety, timeliness, and compliance with Department of Transportation regulations, contributing directly to the smooth and efficient delivery of food and food-related products. Drivers are expected to perform thorough safety inspections before and after trips, handle product unloads and deliveries carefully, communicate effectively with customers and colleagues, and maintain accurate records and paperwork. The working schedule for this role is Monday through Friday from 2:00 AM to 12:30 PM, promoting a structured and consistent workweek.

Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or GED or equivalent experience
  • valid CDL-A license and 21 or older
  • six months or more of CMV driving experience
  • meet all state licensing and certification requirements
  • clean motor vehicle report for past three years
  • pass post-offer drug test and criminal background check
  • pass road test
  • valid current DOT health card or able to obtain one
  • able to hand-lift and use equipment to move product cases and freight

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or GED or equivalent experience

Job Duties

  • perform all required safety checks including pre/post trip inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to DOT regulations
  • inspect tractor/truck and trailer to ensure they meet company safety standards and take appropriate action
  • report all safety issues and repairs required
  • follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving policies
  • immediately report all safety hazards
  • inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight
  • perform count check of items and check customer invoices
  • complete all required paperwork accurately and legibly
  • move tractor to loading dock and attach preloaded trailer as needed
  • drive to and deliver customer orders according to route delivery schedule
  • unload products and transport to customer storage areas
  • perform damage control checks on items and contact supervisor for order removal
  • verify delivery with customer and obtain signatures
  • collect money where required
  • load customer returns and secure trailer doors
  • ensure tractor, trailer, and freight are locked and secured
  • unload damaged goods and customer returns and complete paperwork
  • perform general housekeeping duties in tractor and loading dock area
  • complete daily record of hours of service and log according to DOT and company rules
  • perform other related duties as assigned
