The company's dedication to supporting its employees and fostering a positive work environment has earned it a strong reputation in the foodservice industry.

As a US Foods Shuttle Driver, your primary responsibility will be to safely operate tractor trailers transporting various foodservice products such as meats, produce, frozen foods, and dry goods to and from remote dispatch sites. This role is essential in maintaining the timely delivery of goods, ensuring customers receive high-quality supplies necessary for their operations. The shuttle driving position typically operates from Sunday to Thursday, starting at 5 pm and ending around 4 am, offering an opportunity for individuals seeking overnight shifts.

This role pays approximately $26.45 per hour, reflecting the company's respect for the important function shuttle drivers play in the overall supply chain. Beyond the hourly wage, US Foods offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) retirement plans, life insurance, and more. The company also emphasizes a strong safety culture, ensuring that all drivers operate in a secure and supportive environment.

As a shuttle driver at US Foods, you may occasionally be called upon to perform backhaul or delivery duties, expanding your experience and contribution to the company. Pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspections are an essential part of the role, guaranteeing that trucks remain in optimal condition for safe operation. Drivers must be comfortable working in various weather conditions and able to adapt to overnight schedules.

Candidates must be at least 21 years old and possess a valid CDL Class A license from their state of legal residence, complete with the necessary endorsements and Department of Transportation qualifications. At least six months of commercial driving experience is required, with preference given to those holding doubles endorsements and experience driving doubles. The ability to operate a manual transmission is preferred, as it may be required in specific locations.

Strong communication skills in English are necessary, including the ability to read and understand highway traffic signs, respond to official inquiries, and accurately complete reports and records. Additionally, drivers must register with the FMCSA Clearinghouse, a secure government database designed to monitor and provide real-time information about drivers' compliance with drug and alcohol testing requirements.

US Foods is committed to helping employees build lasting careers. Their drivers are viewed as vital representatives of the company, dedicated to upholding integrity and reliability while building trusting relationships with customers.
