Job Description
Quality Custom Distribution Services LLC (QCD), established in 2006 and headquartered in Frisco, Texas, is a subsidiary of Golden State Foods (GSF). QCD operates as a custom last-mile distribution company focused on providing specially tailored solutions to selected customers in the food service industry. With a commitment to excellence in logistics and distribution, QCD services thousands of restaurants across the United States. The company operates an extensive network of 25 strategically located distribution centers that facilitate over 37,000 deliveries every week. The QCD fleet cumulatively drives over 40 million miles annually, underscoring the company’s significant presence and operational scale in the foodservice logistics landscape. QCD associates also contribute to a broader social impact by supporting the national non-profit organization, the GSF Foundation.
At QCD, every role is integral to the company’s success. Whether an associate is involved in preparing orders, making deliveries, mapping routes, or managing warehouse operations, each team member plays a vital part in maintaining the flow of products that keep America’s favorite restaurants running smoothly. Beyond providing jobs in logistics, QCD is committed to building meaningful careers and advancing the future of foodservice distribution through innovation, collaboration, and professional growth opportunities.
The Class A Driver role based in Kauai offers a unique opportunity to be a key player in QCD’s local supply chain operations. This role is designed for individuals with a valid Class A CDL and experience driving tractor-trailers who seek a stable and rewarding career. Operating a diesel-powered tractor-trailer on local routes without layovers, drivers deliver essential food products safely and efficiently to restaurant customers. This position requires loading and unloading freight using hand trucks or pallet jacks, fitting into the company’s touch-freight model, which involves handling freight without heavy mechanical equipment. Drivers in this role are responsible for completing all necessary vehicle inspections, maintaining Department of Transportation (DOT) logs, and submitting accurate paperwork to ensure compliance with industry regulations. Clear communication with dispatch, store personnel, and fellow team members is paramount to the successful execution of daily duties.
This position offers a Monday through Friday schedule, from 2:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., with the necessity for availability during early mornings, weekends, and holidays as part of a 24/7 operational environment. Compensation includes a competitive base hourly wage starting at $33.00 per hour, with potential incentive pay up to an additional $5.00 per hour. Additional benefits include weekly pay every Friday, health, dental, and vision coverage after 30 days, participation in a 401(k) retirement plan, paid holidays, vacation time, company-provided uniforms, and work shoes. QCD also offers relocation bonuses, including a $5,000 relocation bonus for candidates moving from the mainland, reflecting the company’s commitment to attracting top talent.
QCD’s culture emphasizes people-first values: treating others with respect, holding oneself to high standards, and doing the right thing. The company believes that when its associates thrive, its customers also succeed. Employees benefit from comprehensive training and development pathways that support career advancement from entry-level roles to leadership positions. By joining QCD, drivers join a values-driven culture focused on collaboration, community giving, celebrating successes, learning from challenges, and fostering innovation.
As an equal opportunity employer, QCD is dedicated to nurturing a diverse and inclusive workplace where all employees are supported to succeed and grow. The company’s commitment extends to providing flexible work schedules, associate development programs including education reimbursement, and a comprehensive suite of benefits designed to support employee well-being and work-life balance. By choosing QCD as a career destination, candidates become part of a dynamic organization that is not only leading in foodservice logistics but also deeply invested in the professional and personal development of its workforce.
