Job Description

Performance Foodservice is a leading broadline foodservice distributor, dedicated to delivering high-quality goods and exceptional service to a wide range of customers across the United States. The company maintains strong relationships with a diverse clientele that includes independent restaurants, hotels, healthcare facilities, schools, and quick-service eateries. Through a network of sales representatives, chefs, consultants, and other industry experts, Performance Foodservice goes beyond merely supplying food products. They provide valuable operational advice, menu development support, product selection guidance, and strategic consultation to help their customers optimize their foodservice operations and achieve lasting success. This holistic approach sets the company apart as not only a distributor but also a trusted partner in their customers' growth and sustainability.

Performance Foodservice is committed to fostering a safe, inclusive, and rewarding work environment for its employees, recognizing the importance of diversity and equal opportunity in creating a vibrant workplace. The company offers competitive pay starting between $70,000 and $85,000 annually, alongside a four-day workweek with shifts scheduled typically between 1:30 AM and 6:00 AM, which supports both work-life balance and employee well-being. Uniforms and boots are provided to staff, underscoring the company's commitment to employee comfort and professionalism.

The role of a Food and Food Service Delivery Driver at Performance Foodservice is pivotal, acting as both a vital link in the food supply chain and the face of the company to many customers. Drivers are responsible for safely and efficiently transporting food and related products via tractor trailers or straight trucks on intrastate and interstate routes. This includes local deliveries, over-the-road (OTR) hauls, shuttle runs, overnight shifts, and drive-and-drop routes. Beyond transportation, drivers handle multiple critical tasks such as loading and unloading freight, verifying deliveries, managing paperwork, and ensuring compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) safety regulations and company policies.

Drivers at Performance Foodservice are expected to maintain high standards of safety by conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections of their vehicles, reporting any safety concerns or maintenance needs promptly, and securing freight correctly to prevent damage. They interact professionally with customers, vendors, and colleagues, helping to foster long-term relationships and support the company’s reputation. Additionally, they perform general housekeeping duties to keep equipment, trailers, and loading areas organized and clean.

Performance Foodservice offers numerous benefits to its employees, including immediate access to health and wellness programs from day one, an employee stock purchase plan, 401(k) with employer matching, education assistance, paid time off, and more. These benefits, combined with numerous growth opportunities within the company, create a compelling career path for motivated individuals dedicated to performing essential work in America’s food distribution system. This opportunity is ideal for those seeking a stable, rewarding job with a company that values respect, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
