Job Description

Core-Mark, a leader in the food and beverage distribution industry, operates as a subsidiary of Performance Food Group, a Fortune 150 company recognized for its strong presence and growth in the convenience retail sector. Core-Mark has built a robust reputation by providing fresh and broad-line solutions to convenience stores, retailers, and foodservice customers throughout the United States and Canada. The company's extensive network of distribution centers supports a vast range of products, programs, and services designed to meet the specific needs of its diverse clientele. With over $23 billion in revenue, Core-Mark stands out as an industry leader, demonstrating a commitment to empowering its customers, employees, and the communities it serves.

This position offers a competitive wage range of $71,000 to $76,000 annually, including base pay, component pay, and overtime, coupled with a sought-after 4-day workweek from Tuesday through Friday. The role features a day shift starting at 4:30 am without dispatch duties, a local dedicated route, and the advantage of being home daily for a healthy work-life balance. The opportunity to work in a safe and inclusive environment is accompanied by a company culture that values rewards, recognition, and respect. Employees also benefit from comprehensive packages including Day 1 health and wellness benefits, an employee stock purchase plan, 401K employer matching, education assistance, and paid time off.

The Delivery Driver role at Core-Mark is vital to the food supply chain, functioning as the front line in delivering crucial food and food service products safely and efficiently. Delivery drivers are responsible for ensuring that customers receive their orders on time and in excellent condition, fostering strong relationships that emphasize customer service at every interaction. The driver becomes the face of Core-Mark in client engagements, supporting the company’s mission by representing its values and commitment to quality.

Primarily, this role involves operating tractor trailers or straight trucks across various routes including intrastate and interstate travel, local dedicated runs, over-the-road trips, and shuttle or overnight assignments. The driver is mandated to comply fully with Department of Transportation regulations and Core-Mark’s safety guidelines, routinely performing pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections on vehicles and trailers to guarantee operational safety and adherence to company standards. Every task is executed with safety, professionalism, and compliance in mind—from securing freight to managing delivery documentation and handling customer transactions.

Beyond merely transporting goods, drivers actively participate in logistical checks such as product counts, damage control, loading and unloading duties, and securing equipment and freight. The role requires proficient use of tools like two-wheelers and lift gates to manage freight cases that vary significantly in weight and size, ensuring efficiency and minimizing risk of injury. Drivers must maintain accurate records of hours driven as per DOT standards and perform general maintenance housekeeping tasks within their vehicle and loading areas.

Core-Mark is proud to foster a welcoming workforce, supporting diversity and equal employment opportunities across all levels of employment. The company’s dedication to inclusivity aligns with federal, state, and local laws, ensuring a work environment free from discrimination and filled with respect for all individuals. In addition to competitive pay and comprehensive benefits, the company offers substantial growth opportunities for individuals who contribute to maintaining the essential food distribution system that supports communities nationwide. In this role, you become a crucial member of a team dedicated to the timely and safe delivery of food service products, gaining valuable experience while supporting a large, reputable organization with a clear vision for the future.
