The company operates multiple distribution centers that support the efficient and timely delivery of goods, ensuring that convenience stores and other retail outlets remain fully stocked with high-quality products. Core-Mark's commitment to creating a safe and inclusive work environment is evident through its culture of rewards, recognition, and respect, where employees are valued and encouraged to grow professionally.
The Delivery Driver role at Core-Mark plays a critical part in supporting America's food supply chain by ensuring the prompt and safe delivery of food and food service products. Delivery drivers are the face of the company, responsible not only for transporting goods but also for building lasting relationships with customers. This full-time position offers competitive pay starting at $29.50 per hour, with potential annual earnings between $80,000 and $120,000. The schedule is Monday to Friday, focusing on team routes, which fosters collaboration and a positive team dynamic.
Drivers are responsible for performing essential safety inspections and adhering to Department of Transportation regulations to guarantee compliance and road safety. They carefully inspect vehicles and freight to ensure all items meet company safety standards and are properly secured. Drivers handle the loading and unloading of products, check orders against customer invoices, and maintain accurate delivery records. Customer service is a significant aspect of this role, as drivers verify deliveries, obtain signatures, collect payments when necessary, and manage any customer returns or damaged goods according to company guidelines.
Additionally, drivers are tasked with maintaining cleanliness and organization of their vehicles and work areas, performing general housekeeping duties and securing equipment at the end of each shift. The role requires physical stamina to handle product cases and freight ranging from 10 to 90 pounds using equipment such as two-wheelers and lift gates. Drivers complete daily logs to record hours of service in accordance with federal, state, and company policies.
Core-Mark offers an exceptional benefits package that includes Day 1 Health and Wellness Benefits, an Employee Stock Purchase Plan, 401(k) employer matching, education assistance, and paid time off, among others. The company promotes growth opportunities within an essential industry, providing a workplace where employees’ contributions are recognized and rewarded. Overall, this role is ideal for individuals seeking a stable and rewarding career in the food distribution sector, where safety, customer satisfaction, and teamwork are prioritized.
