A leading organization based in Boca Raton, FL, is currently seeking a Cloud & Citrix Engineer for an exciting 6-month contract-to-hire opportunity that operates in a hybrid work environment, allowing 4 days onsite and 1 day remote work. The Cloud & Citrix Engineer will primarily focus on designing, engineering, and supporting Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (CVAD/DaaS) across a complex hybrid infrastructure landscape. This infrastructure integrates on-premises data centers, colocation environments, and public cloud platforms, with a special emphasis on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Candidates will work intimately with VMware virtualization technologies, hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI), and Google Compute Engine (GCE) to develop highly available, secure, and scalable virtual desktop solutions. This role is ideal for professionals who thrive on solving complex infrastructure challenges and who have a passion for innovation in virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI).

In this role, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with multiple teams across architecture, networking, and security domains. As a technical escalation point and mentor, your knowledge and expertise will be essential in guiding modernization projects and influencing the company’s strategic infrastructure decisions. This position allows for direct involvement in migration projects, transitioning legacy systems to more agile cloud-based environments, and applying best practices to ensure operational excellence in production environments. Candidates with advanced hands-on experience in Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, deep expertise in Citrix ADC/NetScaler including gateway and secure access configurations, and a robust understanding of hybrid cloud infrastructures will be well-positioned for success. Proficiency in VMware vCenter and ESXi administration combined with hands-on knowledge of GCP services like IAM, networking, monitoring, and logging are critical for delivering optimal solutions at scale. Experience with hyperconverged infrastructure platforms and lifecycle management adds further value to the candidate’s profile.

Strong troubleshooting skills across compute, storage, networking, and identity layers are vital to address complex issues in high-availability production environments that require on-call support. Additionally, excellent communication, documentation, and collaboration skills are necessary to effectively work across teams and departments. Preferred candidates will hold certifications such as Citrix CCP, CCE-V, and NetScaler, Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect or Network Engineer certifications, and VMware VCP-DCV or equivalent acknowledgments.
