Job Duties

  • Manages all cafeteria and kitchen functions including point-of-sale systems food distribution tracking receiving and storing food and supplies preparing high-quality nutritious meals conducting inventory and collaborating with Central Kitchen Manager and Nutritionist to follow meal patterns and order supplies
  • Supervise support and evaluate Child Nutrition Workers to create a conducive atmosphere for productivity and satisfaction
  • Use quality food production techniques to produce appealing and nutritious foods ensuring daily food quality
  • Ensure safety of all students and staff by following food safety plan conducting safety procedures and complying with federal state and local regulations
  • Provide exemplary customer service to students and staff and communicate effectively with School Principal and vendors
  • Use forecasting as a management tool to support budget decisions and operate within guidelines for a cost-effective program
  • Complete and maintain manager reports and daily food production records as required by federal regulations
  • Complete a minimum of 10 hours of professional standards training per USDA requirements
  • Utilize district technologies appropriately and attend required training as directed
  • Correctly and efficiently process school meal applications
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
