With locations across the United States, AdventHealth is well known for its patient-centered approach and commitment to professional and spiritual growth for its staff. The organization offers a supportive and inclusive environment that encourages collaboration, growth, and excellence in healthcare services. The position we are featuring is located at 1055 Saxon Blvd, Orange City, Florida, where a full-time, day-shift Child Life Specialist role is available. The role of a Child Life Specialist at AdventHealth is vital in fostering positive healthcare experiences for pediatric patients and their families. These professionals focus on the psychosocial development of children, offering emotional support, developmentally appropriate education, and play opportunities to enhance coping mechanisms during medical procedures, diagnosis, pain management, and grief processes. Child Life Specialists address not only the patient's needs but also those of siblings and other children affected by a patient's illness or diagnosis. By integrating play and expressive activities, they help minimize the stress and anxiety that young patients and families might face throughout their healthcare journey. These specialists are an indispensable part of the multidisciplinary care team and are highly respected for their contribution to patient care and family support. Additionally, AdventHealth invests in their continuous learning and professional development through clinical advancement programs to ensure that Child Life Specialists remain at the forefront of best practices in pediatric psychosocial care. The role is designed for individuals who thrive in a collaborative environment, who desire to make a direct impact on children's lives, and who are passionate about providing compassionate, holistic care to families during challenging times. This is an opportunity not only to grow professionally but also to be part of a larger mission that values both the healing of body and spirit, offering substantial benefits from day one, including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, paid time off, retirement plans, and comprehensive wellness resources.
