The Early Childhood Center Cook position at Bright Horizons is a full-time role designed for individuals passionate about providing nutritious, balanced meals tailored specifically to young children and the staff who support them. This position is critical in maintaining the health, safety, and happiness of the children by overseeing the entire kitchen operation, including menu development, meal preparation, and inventory management. The role operates Monday through Friday, from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM and offers a competitive hourly wage ranging between $15.50 and $19.00, depending on experience and qualifications. Additionally, a temporary $1000 hiring incentive is currently offered to attract qualified candidates.

As the cook, you will take pride in preparing meals that meet state and company nutrition standards while managing kitchen sanitation, adhering strictly to safety guidelines, and ensuring all supplies are adequately stocked via conscientious ordering. Job Requirements

  • 18 years of age
  • high school degree or GED
  • relevant experience in child care center, public school, or commercial kitchen
  • pass required background checks
  • meet minimum state and company education requirements
  • ability to comply with sanitation and safety standards
  • availability to work Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Job Qualifications

  • 18 years of age with a high school degree or GED
  • relevant experience working in a licensed child care center, public school, or commercial kitchen
  • ability to comply with state and company background checks
  • strong kitchen management and meal preparation skills
  • knowledge of nutritional guidelines for children
  • good communication and organizational skills

Job Duties

  • Plan and prepare nutritionally balanced meals for children and staff
  • keep an accurate inventory of supplies and place orders as needed
  • manage all aspects of prepping and preparing meals
  • clean and comply with sanitation requirements
  • oversee kitchen operations including menu development
  • ensure compliance with state and company nutrition and safety standards
