The role of Child Care Cook, also known as Food Specialist, is integral to our daily operations and the well-being of the children we serve. This position focuses on food preparation that meets the nutritional needs of children enrolled at our centers. As a Food Specialist, you will be responsible for preparing and serving meals and snacks that adhere to the menu guidelines established by the center director while complying with state and federal requirements such as USDA regulations and health department standards. This role demands someone who is not only skilled in kitchen management and meal preparation but also adaptable to menu changes and meal schedules. Beyond cooking duties, this position includes maintaining food inventory and ordering supplies as necessary. The Food Specialist also plays a supportive role by assisting in classrooms when needed, demonstrating flexibility and teamwork.
