This particular Cook/Chef position is based at Martin Luther Care Center's Aurora on France location in Edina, MN. Aurora on France is a state-of-the-art senior living community attached to Fairview Southdale Hospital, conveniently situated near Highway 62 and France Avenue and accessible via public transportation. The community offers a comprehensive continuum of care including Transitional Care, Enhanced Care, and Assisted Living/Memory Care services. This role plays a crucial part in supporting the nutritional needs and culinary experience for the residents, whose wellbeing is at the forefront of the center's values.
The Cook/Chef is responsible for preparing, cooking, and plating meals according to standardized recipes that ensure the highest culinary standards and appeal to the residents, thereby encouraging food consumption and promoting health. With responsibilities spanning from meal preparation to sanitation, the role demands a professional who is detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and capable of working both independently and within a team. The successful candidate will work full-time, approximately 56 hours every two weeks, with day and evening shifts including every other weekend. The position offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $20.83 to $29.40 depending on experience and qualifications.

Job Requirements
- ServSafe certification or must be acquired within 90 days of start date
- Basic math skills and comfortable using Microsoft applications
- Good problem solving and time leadership skills
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Must be 18 years of age or older
Job Qualifications
- Vocational or technical training or education or degree preferred
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Cooking experience in a similar environment preferred
- Scratch cooking experience preferred
Job Duties
- Prepare and cook meals by following standardized recipes
- Handle and prepare food safely following policies and infection control standards
- Ensure timely production and meal service to residents
- Set up line service
- Clean and sanitize equipment and work area after each use
- Assist with special events
- Assist Culinary Director with supervision and training of culinary staff
