We are currently hiring a Sous Chef to join our dynamic Culinary Department. This full-time role is primarily responsible for supporting the Executive Chef in the successful operation of the culinary services within a healthcare facility. As a key member of the team, you will assist in food preparation, cooking, menu development, garnishing, and supervising culinary staff. The role calls for an energetic and entrepreneurial culinary professional eager to contribute to a high-volume, complex foodservice operation that emphasizes quality, sanitation, cost control, and presentation. You will also participate in planning and executing catering services and rolling out new culinary programs in partnership with company marketing and culinary teams. The Sous Chef will assist with managing expenses, ordering supplies, and ensuring compliance with food safety standards including maintaining ServSafe certification. Job Requirements

  • a.s. degree or equivalent experience
  • culinary/kitchen management experience
  • computer proficiency in microsoft office, outlook, email, and internet
  • servsafe certification highly desirable
  • ability to work in high volume, complex foodservice operations
  • willingness to participate in client satisfaction activities

Job Qualifications

  • catering experience a plus

  • institutional and batch cooking experience helpful
  • comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends focused on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation

  • servsafe certified highly desirable

Job Duties

  • assist the executive chef with managing cost controls and control expenditures for the account
  • assist the executive chef with planning and creating menus
  • produce and execute catering events
  • roll out new culinary programs in conjunction with company marketing and culinary team
  • supervise hourly associates and culinary staff
  • prepare and cook various food items
  • ensure quality, sanitation, and presentation standards are met
