Job Description
DIG is a contemporary restaurant brand committed to building a sustainable and culturally inclusive culinary experience. Known for its scratch-based kitchens and innovative approach to food, DIG focuses on crafting meals with fresh, high-quality ingredients sourced ethically to support local farmers and sustainable agriculture. The company fosters a work environment centered on collaboration, growth, and community engagement, making it a dynamic place for culinary professionals to thrive. DIG not only values culinary excellence but also emphasizes supporting the next generation of farmers, cooks, and chefs through a strong team culture and training model.
The role of Chef Operator at DIG is a leadership position integral to the restaurant's operations and overall success. As a Chef Operator, you will helm the kitchen and dining experience by driving culinary excellence and operational efficiency. This is a full-time position offering a competitive salary range of $80,000 to $85,000 annually, with an annual salary increase and potential for quarterly bonuses tied to high growth opportunities. The role involves managing both front-of-house and back-of-house operations, combining culinary and business leadership.
As the Chef Operator, you are expected to be a motivational leader who cultivates and develops the team through hands-on mentoring and a focus on skills-building in a fast-paced, changing environment. You will oversee all aspects of the restaurant operation, including food costs, labor management, guest experience, and compliance with Department of Health standards. Managing logistics and process improvements is key, as DIG's kitchens evolve with daily menu updates and new business initiatives. Your responsibilities extend to problem-solving technology issues, coordinating delivery platforms, and maintaining strong communication both internally and externally.
The position demands a strategic thinker with excellent organizational capabilities, able to work collaboratively with restaurant leaders and the Field Leadership Team to ensure cohesive team performance and exceptional guest experiences. You will partner closely with the Chef de Cuisine to uphold quality assurance processes, convert guest feedback into actionable insights, and lead recruitment and onboarding to build a high-performing culinary team. Your efforts will directly impact the restaurant's operational flow, employee relations, training and development, and adherence to corporate culture and anti-discrimination policies.
In summary, the Chef Operator role at DIG is designed for a results-driven individual who thrives in a system-oriented, innovative environment and is passionate about real food and excellent hospitality. This position offers significant growth potential, a comprehensive benefits package, and the opportunity to be a key player in a mission-driven restaurant company dedicated to sustainable, community-focused dining.
