Aramark Healthcare at Baylor Scott and White Medical Center is seeking a dedicated and skilled Chef Manager to lead the culinary team. This role is not just about preparing food but about creating comprehensive culinary experiences that align with strict safety protocols, budget management, and exceptional customer service. The Chef Manager will be responsible for supervising kitchen operations, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and developing the culinary team to reach their highest potential. A hands-on approach is required, focusing on team development, food quality, presentation standards, and client relations to maintain and enhance the reputation of both Aramark and Baylor Scott and White Medical Center.
The Chef Manager will manage various culinary activities including training and supervising kitchen staff, estimating food consumption, ordering supplies, developing and standardizing recipes, menu planning, and overseeing equipment maintenance. They will ensure that quality and presentation standards meet the company’s high expectations and customer satisfaction. Additionally, the Chef Manager may coordinate special catering events and provide culinary instruction to staff, promoting best practices and culinary innovation.

Job Requirements
- 2-3 years of experience in a related position
- 2-3 years of post-high school education or equivalent experience
- Culinary degree preferred
- Advanced knowledge of the principles and practices within the food profession
- Experiential knowledge of management of people and/or problems
- Oral, reading and written communication skills

Job Duties
- Train and manage kitchen personnel and supervise/coordinate all related culinary activities
- Estimate food consumption and requisition or purchase food
- Select and develop recipes as well as standardize production recipes to ensure consistent quality
- Establish presentation technique and quality standards, and plan and price menus
- Ensure proper equipment operation/maintenance and ensure proper safety and sanitation in kitchen
- Oversee special catering events and may also offer culinary instruction and/or demonstrates culinary techniques
