This opportunity is for the position of Chef Manager based in Sunnyvale, CA, offering an annual salary between $70,300 and $75,000. The Chef Manager role is a pivotal leadership position within Eurest, responsible for overseeing the entire culinary and food service operation to ensure success and excellence. This position combines operational management with creative culinary direction, providing a unique chance to impact both the food quality and the business’s profitability.

In this role, the Chef Manager will lead culinary activities including menu development, inventory management, purchasing, and cost control. The focus is on delivering fresh, locally sourced products, maintaining sustainability practices, and ensuring adherence to safety standards like HACCP. The role demands a deep understanding of food cost controls, sanitation, production efficiency, and catering trends to meet and exceed the expectations of high-profile corporate clients.

The Chef Manager also bears responsibility for financial aspects such as profit and loss accountability, emphasizing contract-managed service experience. This position requires a passion for culinary excellence and sustainable foodservice, along with a hands-on approach to managing teams and operations. Candidates will bring expertise in exposition cooking, inventory control, and adherence to ServSafe or similar certifications is considered advantageous.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum three years culinary management experience
  • Experience in contract-managed food service operations
  • Knowledge of inventory, purchasing, and cost control
  • Ability to lead and manage culinary teams
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Willingness to adhere to company policies including drug-free workplace

Job Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of HACCP
  • Minimum three years culinary management experience in contract foodservice, fine dining, or restaurant setting
  • Experience with inventory and purchasing controls
  • Knowledge of food and catering trends focusing on quality and presentation
  • Experience with exposition cooking
  • Understanding of profit and loss accountability
  • ServSafe certification is a plus

Job Duties
