This position is for a Chef Manager role within Aramark's food services division. The Chef Manager is essential in driving the culinary team's success by blending leadership, creativity, and operational efficiency. Reporting directly to the General Manager, this role entails supervising kitchen personnel, ensuring compliance with safety and sanitation protocols, and maintaining high standards for food quality and presentation. The Chef Manager plays a crucial role in managing inventory, budgeting food consumption, and developing innovative menus and recipes consistent with company standards. Additionally, this position requires active involvement in training staff, coordinating special catering events, and possibly providing culinary instruction and demonstrations. This is a hands-on leadership role where the candidate contributes not only to food production but also to developing the team and enhancing customer satisfaction.

The position offers a salaried compensation ranging from $60,000 to $70,000 annually, reflecting Aramark's commitment to offering competitive pay aligned with industry standards. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2-3 years of experience in a related position
  • 2-3 years of post-high school education or equivalent experience
  • Culinary degree preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of culinary principles and practices
  • Experience managing people and resolving problems
  • Strong oral, reading and written communication skills

Job Duties

  • Train and manage kitchen personnel and supervise or coordinate all related culinary activities
  • Estimate food consumption and requisition or purchase food
  • Select and develop recipes as well as standardize production recipes to ensure consistent quality
  • Establish presentation technique and quality standards, and plan and price menus
  • Ensure proper equipment operation and maintenance and ensure proper safety and sanitation in kitchen
  • Oversee special catering events and may also offer culinary instruction and/or demonstrates culinary techniques
