Job Requirements

  • At least 2-3 years of experience in a culinary position
  • post-high school education preferably with a culinary degree
  • knowledge of culinary principles and practices
  • management experience
  • strong communication skills

Job Duties

  • Train and lead kitchen personnel
  • supervise and coordinate all culinary activities
  • estimate food consumption and requisition or purchase food
  • select and develop recipes and standardize production recipes to ensure consistent quality
  • establish presentation techniques and quality standards and plan and price menus
  • ensure proper equipment operation and maintenance and enforce safety and sanitation standards
  • oversee special catering events and offer culinary instruction or demonstrate culinary techniques
