Job Description
Boqueria is one of the leading Spanish tapas restaurant groups on the East Coast, with 11 vibrant locations across major cities including New York City, Washington DC, Chicago, Nashville, Boston, West Hartford, and Atlanta. Known for its lively tapas bars inspired by the bustling atmosphere and authentic flavors of Barcelona's famous "El Mercado de la Boqueria," Boqueria offers an inviting dining experience centered around classic Spanish tapas and small plates crafted from the best seasonal ingredients. This restaurant group emphasizes a welcoming environment where friends, families, and coworkers gather to share in the spirit of communal dining typical of Spanish culture. Boqueria's open kitchen concept highlights their commitment to quality and authenticity, making it a beloved destination for those seeking an upscale casual dining experience with a genuine Spanish flair. The company fosters a strong culture that values hospitality, quality, and a team-oriented approach to creating memorable guest experiences. The role they are hiring for is that of a Chef de Cuisine, a critical leadership position within the kitchen hierarchy. This salaried position offers an annual pay range between $80,000 and $100,000 and comes with a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance through Cigna, company-paid long and short-term disability, life insurance, a 401(k) retirement plan with company matching, flexible spending accounts for health and dependent care, commuter benefits, and voluntary supplemental benefits such as accident and critical illness coverage. The Chef de Cuisine at Boqueria is tasked with leading the back-of-house operations to consistently exceed guest expectations, ensuring impeccable food quality and adherence to brand standards. This role requires managing inventory and ordering with careful attention to ingredient excellence, as well as curating par levels to optimize both quality and cost efficiency. As a leader, the Chef de Cuisine is also responsible for hiring, training, and retaining a high-performing team committed to hospitality excellence. The position calls for a balance of culinary expertise, financial acumen, and strong leadership skills to drive operational success and uphold Boqueria's reputation for outstanding food and service. Candidates who thrive in this role are those with passion, creativity, and a drive to elevate every aspect of the kitchen's performance, from the quality of dishes to team dynamics and cost management. Additionally, this opportunity offers flexible scheduling and availability both for full-time and part-time team members, supporting a work-life balance within an energetic and fast-paced environment that values growth and excellence.
