Job Description
Loews Ventana Canyon Resort is a premier luxury resort located in the heart of Tucson, Arizona, renowned for its breathtaking views of the Catalina Mountain range and its exceptional guest experiences. As one of Arizona's top choices for upscale accommodations, Loews Ventana Canyon offers a serene desert oasis where guests can relax, recharge, and immerse themselves in the mesmerizing beauty of the Sonoran Desert. The resort seamlessly combines the comfort of modern amenities with natural splendor to create an unparalleled experience that satisfies both leisure travelers and business guests alike.
Operating under the prestigious Loews Hotels & Co brand, which has been a leader in the hospitality industry since 1960, Loews Ventana Canyon is part of a larger portfolio of iconic hotels and resorts across the United States. This affiliation provides team members with opportunities to grow within a company committed to diversity, inclusion, and professional development. At Loews, the emphasis is placed not only on delivering exceptional services to guests but also on nurturing the careers and well-being of its employees. The resort fosters an environment where team members feel valued for their individuality, regardless of age, race, gender, or background, promoting a culture of belonging and respect.
The current opportunity is for a Chef de Cuisine at the Flying V restaurant, a role integral to maintaining the resort's distinguished culinary reputation. This leadership position involves overseeing all culinary operations, including menu planning, food preparation, and staff management. The Chef de Cuisine will work in close collaboration with the Executive Chef to develop innovative and creative menus that reflect the restaurant’s concept and appeal to discerning guests. This role requires a fine balance of creativity and operational expertise to ensure that the kitchen delivers consistently high-quality dishes that enhance the overall dining experience.
The successful candidate will be a skilled culinary professional with comprehensive knowledge of food production techniques, kitchen equipment, and food safety standards. As a hands-on leader, the Chef de Cuisine manages the kitchen team, schedules staff to effectively meet the demands of peak hours and special events, and maintains rigorous standards of cleanliness and organization. This position offers the chance to influence the guest experience directly by crafting exceptional cuisine and mentoring a motivated culinary team.
Loews Ventana Canyon Resort values innovation and sustainability, encouraging the use of seasonal, local, and premium ingredients, as well as modern cooking methods that amplify natural flavors. The Chef de Cuisine will be expected to stay abreast of culinary trends, including plant-based options and health-conscious ingredients, and to incorporate these into the menu creatively and thoughtfully.
In addition to competitive health and wellness benefits, 401(k) matching, and a variety of paid leave options, Loews provides training and development programs to support career growth. Employees benefit from tuition reimbursement, pet insurance, team member hotel rates, and various other discounts, making Loews Ventana Canyon Resort not only a place of work but a community where career aspirations and well-being are prioritized.
This full-time role invites a culinary leader who thrives in a fast-paced, high-end hospitality environment and desires to make a meaningful impact by blending creativity with operational excellence. Join Loews Ventana Canyon Resort and contribute to an exceptional dining experience that complements its stunning desert setting and dedication to guest satisfaction.
