Starwood Hotels is a distinguished luxury hotel brand management company founded in 2006 by Barry Sternlicht and operating as an affiliate of the global private investment firm Starwood Capital Group. Renowned for its mission-driven approach, Starwood Hotels stands out in the hospitality sector by prioritizing its core values—excellent people, collaboration, stellar service, and a deep respect for nature. The brand is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workforce that reflects its empowering and sustainable culture. As an equal opportunity employer, Starwood Hotels adheres strongly to non-discrimination practices and accommodates employees with special needs through their People Operations department. Starwood’s vision to care for both its community and the planet informs all facets of employee life and guest experiences throughout their portfolio of luxury properties.

We are currently looking for an exceptional and experienced Chef de Cuisine to lead Alteno, our signature restaurant that offers an elevated dining experience during breakfast, lunch, and dinner service. Alteno is a dynamic concept developed in partnership with renowned Chef Johnny Curiel and Kasie Curiel, co-founders of Fonda Fina Hospitality, the team behind the Michelin-starred Alma Fonda Fina. The original Alteno in Denver, Colorado, has already garnered critical acclaim, recently securing a spot on Conde Nast Traveler's "Best New Restaurants in the World: 2026 Hot List." Furthermore, Chef Johnny Curiel himself is recognized as a James Beard Award finalist for Best Chef in the Mountain Region, underscoring the high culinary standards and innovative approaches defining the restaurant.

The role of Chef de Cuisine at Alteno is a leadership position requiring a seasoned culinary professional with a passionate commitment to food excellence and team development. The successful candidate will manage all kitchen operations, ensuring a high level of consistency and quality in food preparation and presentation while embracing creativity in menu development. They will work closely with the front-of-house staff to guarantee smooth service flow, mentor and train kitchen staff to uphold operational standards, and maintain rigorous food safety and sanitation protocols. Inventory management, ordering, portion control, and waste minimization will be critical aspects of this role, demanding sharp organizational skills and financial acumen. The ideal candidate should be flexible, prepared to manage the demands of a 24-hour operation, and excel in both verbal and written communication.

Joining Starwood Hotels means becoming part of a company that truly values people and community, supports career growth, and encourages innovative leadership within an environment that respects sustainability and environmental stewardship. This role offers an opportunity to shape the culinary direction of a celebrated restaurant while being part of a larger organization committed to purposeful hospitality and world-class experiences.
