Job Description

Aba is an exciting new Mediterranean restaurant with a California influence, set to open in late 2026 in the vibrant Design District of Dallas, Texas. The establishment is part of a growing chain with existing locations in Austin, TX, Chicago, IL, and Nashville, TN. Known for its innovative menu curated by Top Chef Alum and Chef Partner CJ Jacobson, Aba emphasizes a modern approach to Mediterranean cuisine. The restaurant is also distinguished by its exceptional beverage program, which highlights spirits and rare wines sourced from lesser-known Mediterranean regions, offering customers a unique dining experience that blends authentic flavors with contemporary culinary techniques.

Brought to market under the Lettuce Entertain You Restaurants umbrella, Aba Dallas benefits from the backing of a respected, culinary-driven company with over 130 locations nationwide. Lettuce Entertain You is deeply committed to supporting its employees by fostering a Culture of Caring that values diverse talents and perspectives. By joining Aba Dallas, team members will be joining a dynamic environment focused on innovation, quality, and community engagement within the hospitality industry.

Aba Dallas is currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Chef de Cuisine to lead the culinary operations from its inception. This full-time position offers a competitive salary range of $70,000 to $90,000 per year along with numerous benefits. The role requires at least 4 years of experience as a Chef de Cuisine in full-service restaurant settings and the ability to lead, develop, and inspire kitchen teams effectively.

The Chef de Cuisine will be responsible for managing all aspects of the back-of-house (BOH) operations, ensuring smooth execution of food preparation, cooking, inventory management, and quality control. Collaborating closely with the General Manager and designated managers/chefs, the Chef de Cuisine will play a crucial role in menu development and implementation, food costing, vendor relations, and employee training. A key part of this leadership role involves fostering a positive and inclusive work environment, aligned with the Culture of Caring commitment, and focusing on culinary excellence and guest satisfaction.

This role also involves operational oversight, including leading opening shift processes, handling food orders, inventory, price updates, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. The Chef de Cuisine will maintain recipe books, conduct regular line checks to ensure quality standards are met, and facilitate effective communication between the front of house and BOH teams to keep service running seamlessly.

The ideal candidate will be adept at multitasking under pressure, possess strong communication and leadership skills, and demonstrate a passion for Mediterranean cuisine with a creative flair. The position may require working varied shifts, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and occasional overnight travel as necessary. Physical demands include the ability to move and lift items weighing up to 50 pounds.

Joining Aba Dallas offers career-long training, growth opportunities, and the advantage of working with a nationally recognized restaurant group known for its commitment to employee development and well-being. Candidates who are ready to bring their expertise to a leading-edge culinary team and help establish Aba Dallas as a premiere destination in the Design District are encouraged to apply and become part of a thriving and innovative culinary community.
