The ideal candidate will be responsible for cooking and assembling meals and bakery items following standardized recipes to guarantee consistent quality, nutritional balance, and proper portion control. The candidate will also play a supervisory role in the absence of the kitchen supervisor, managing daily operations and ensuring effective communication between the kitchen team and residents or guests regarding meal quality and service. Job Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older
- Food Handlers certification issued by an ANAB-CFP accredited food sanitation program within 90 days or alternative certification
- Ability to work in compliance with health and safety regulations
- Reliable and punctual
- Good communication skills
- Ability to follow standardized recipes and procedures
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and special events
Job Qualifications
- Vocational school technical training or associate degree in food service preferred
- 1 to 3 years of experience preferred
- Working knowledge of basic Microsoft applications preferred
- Food Protection Manager certification issued by an ANAB-CFP accredited food sanitation program within 90 days preferred
- Certified Food Protection Manager certificate (CFPM) issued by the State of Minnesota (for MN locations) within 90 days preferred
- 0 to 1 year of related experience
- Food Handlers certification from an ANAB-CFP accredited program within 90 days
Job Duties
- Prepare and cook food items to specified temperatures following standardized recipes
- Weigh and measure ingredients per standardized recipes to ensure consistent quality and portioning
- Assemble meals and bakery items within designated time frames
- Assist with special event meal preparations
- Prepare texturized diets following International Dysphagia Diet Standardization (IDDSI) standards
- Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen environment by following cleaning schedules and using proper equipment and chemicals
- Supervise kitchen staff and manage daily operations and customer service in the absence of the supervisor
- Communicate resident and guest feedback on meal and service quality effectively
