We are currently seeking a skilled and creative Chef to lead our kitchen operations. This role is pivotal in ensuring that 1519 Restaurant maintains its reputation for high-quality, soulful food that resonates with its customers. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a demonstrated ability to work with diverse cooking techniques to produce dishes that are not only delicious but also artistically presented. The Chef will be responsible for planning and executing menus that align with the restaurant's culinary identity and customer preferences. Precision, creativity, and consistency in meal preparation are expected to meet the high standards of the establishment. Beyond cooking, the Chef will oversee all daily kitchen operations, including inventory management, preparation processes, and maintaining cleanliness. Leadership is key in this role; supervising and training kitchen staff to uphold stringent food quality, safety, and hygiene standards is essential. Job Requirements

  • Four years of experience as a chef
  • Culinary degree or equivalent experience
  • Ability to work day and night shifts
  • Availability for flexible scheduling including 8, 10, and 12 hour shifts
  • Ability to commute to Philadelphia, PA 19130
  • Willingness to relocate to Philadelphia, PA 19130 before starting work
  • Capability to work in person
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to manage kitchen operations effectively

Job Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a chef or cook in a high-volume kitchen
  • Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred
